Consultation has concluded

Richmond’s spectacular location, where the Fraser River meets the Pacific Ocean, means our city is located within one of the most productive ecosystems in the world. Recognizing these ecosystems and the benefits they provide, the City has developed a long-term Ecological Network Management Strategy to manage and guide decisions for natural areas on City, public and private lands. The Strategy essentially provides the City with a blueprint to manage and enhance our natural and built environments, seeking ecologically connected, livable and healthy places.

The Ecological Network is made up of terrestrial areas, shoreline and riparian zones. The Richmond Nature Park, Terra Nova Rural Park, Sturgeon Banks, South Arm Islands, as well as smaller sites such as backyards, parks, school yards and fields are all part of the Ecological Network.

To inform the Strategy, we are looking for your feedback on natural areas and environmental stewardship in Richmond. The survey is anonymous and will take 5 to 10 minutes to complete. It will be available until October 31, 2014.

Thank you for your participation!
