Help Design the Aberdeen Park Playground
The City of Richmond is developing a conceptual plan for a new playground at Aberdeen Park and would like to hear from you. There are a couple of different ways you can become involved:
Drop by the public open house on Saturday, November 17 from noon to 4 p.m. to view and provide feedback on information boards, a preliminary playground concept plan, as well as speak with City staff and project landscape architects and complete a survey. The event will take place inside Aberdeen Centre located at 4151 Hazelbridge Way, on the first floor next to the BC Lotto Centre.
Use the Document Library on this page to view the open house materials and learn more about the project. After you review the documents, please take a few minutes to complete the online survey below. The deadline to submit a completed survey is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, December 2.
Information gathered from the public open house and online surveys will be used to develop a playground design that will be unveiled in 2019, with construction anticipated to start in the spring.
Aberdeen Park opened to the public this past summer, and is the focal point of the emerging Capstan Village area in Richmond’s City Centre. It offers rich green space, a vibrant urban square and areas for public gatherings, community events and arts and cultural activities. The park’s second phase of development will include a playground, stage canopy, public washroom and Zhengzhou exchange garden, and is anticipated to be completed in late 2019.
Thank you for your participation. Your input is important to us.
