Why is the pier just east of the oval not being constructed by the developer as promised for winter 2019? When will it be constructed?

madison1 asked over 3 years ago

    Thank you for your question.

The development application for the construction of the pier to the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resources Operations, and Rural Development is still under review.

The City submitted the application to the Ministry on January 2017 and as a result of ongoing changes within their organization and First Nations’ permitting reviews, the evaluation process for development applications has been significantly impacted with no guarantee of approvals. The City is actively seeking a resolution with the Ministry and eager to move forward as soon as approval from the Ministry is received.

Hi, I wonder why there is no improvement project planned for Garry Point? It just needs a few things to be the best park in Richmond. Thanks!

reginacid asked over 3 years ago

Thank you for asking this question!

A proposal for funding a new master planning process for Garry Point Park was proposed to City Council in 2018; however, the project has been delayed due to other priorities.

A new master plan for the park would allow for public consultation on the items and changes the community would like to see in Garry Point Park.

What happened to the park at River Drive and McClennan, the condos are built and the neighborhood is left with a pile of dirt?

Ross Keegan asked over 3 years ago

The park you are referring to is Tait Riverfront Park, which is to be located at the north end of McLennan Avenue. This park is not included in the Capital projects as it is to be constructed by the developer, as per the rezoning requirements.

would it be considered to build a simple restroom or add a couple of chemical toilet unts along the rive road from Terra nova park to oval olympic for people who walk on trail?

lisaxu asked over 3 years ago

There currently are not any plans to add washrooms along the Middle Arm Dike Trail between Terra Nova Rural Park and the Olympic Oval Riverside Plaza. Please note: there are public washrooms available along the dike trail near Terra Nova Rural Park and in the parkade level at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
