Richmond Block Watch 2019

Hello,

The City of Richmond would like to hear about your experience as a participant in a neighbourhood Block Watch group.

Your input is valuable. Please complete and submit this feedback form by Friday June 21, 2019.

If you have received this survey but are currently not a participant in a neighbourhood Block Watch group please contact Rita Leung, Block Watch Coordinator at 604-207-4829.

Introduction

In 2016, Block Watch Captains and Co-captains participated in a survey to help the City gain an understanding of how the Block Watch Program was meeting participant needs and to solicit ideas on how it could be improved. The feedback received at that time led to several Program updates, including:

  • Sending more crime prevention tips and information on a regular basis, via email, Facebook, and other formats.
  • Creating pamphlets and hand-outs in the Chinese language.
  • Providing active recruitment via community events, school events, Block Watch information sessions, radio shows, and local newspapers.
  • Conducting Captains appreciation events.
  • Providing more Captain training.
  • Including RCMP officers in more Block Watch events.
  • Incorporating crime prevention tips that are more applicable to apartment and townhouse settings.

At this time, we’d like to learn if your experience with the program has improved and if your awareness and knowledge to prevent crime in your community has increased. We would greatly appreciate five minutes of your time to complete the attached feedback form. All questions on the form are optional. By completing this feedback form you will have a chance to win a home security product. To qualify please complete and submit the feedback form by Friday June 21, 2019. Any related questions can be directed to Rita Leung at the phone number listed above.

Thank you for your time.
