The City of Richmond, Vancouver Coastal Health – Richmond and Richmond School District No. 38 are developing an updated Community Wellness Strategy and we need your input. Help us shape the future of Richmond by sharing your feedback regarding health and wellness in your city.
There are two ways to join the conversation:
Complete the on-line survey. Please click on the survey link below. Surveydeadline is Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.
Join us in person for one of four public open houses at one of Richmond’s four public library branches. The dates and times are noted on this page under Key Dates. A Mandarin/Cantonese -speaking facilitator will be available at all sites.
Richmond residents are generally pretty healthy. Stress levels, obesity, smoking and alcohol rates in adults are lower than comparison groups. Richmond residents live longer on average and sense of community belonging is strong in a few Richmond neighbourhoods. However, recent data suggests that there are several opportunities for improvement, such as more healthy built environments that encourage physical activity, more healthy food outlets in certain neighbourhoods, increased access to transit for more residents, and environments that promote a sense of community belonging.
