Creating important new affordable housing for Richmond residents
New The City of Richmond has formally submitted the rezoning application
June 30, 2026
The City of Richmond has applied to rezone 3660, 3680, 3700, 3720 and 3740 Sexsmith Road to allow affordable rental apartment housing in one or two six-storey buildings with approximately 220 homes.
Rezoning would position the City to pursue senior-government funding through the Build Canada Homes program, with detailed design and servicing requirements addressed later through the development permit and servicing agreement processes. If rezoning is approved, more detailed designs will be prepared to support development permit and building permit applications.
