In late-July 2025, the City launched a pilot project for angled parking on Chatham Street, from Fourth Avenue to Sixth Avenue. This pilot included asking the public's feedback via a survey on LetsTalkRichmond.ca from July 23 to October 19, 2025.

The angled parking remains on Chatham Street and the City is gathering feedback from people who live, work, visit and park in Steveston to help evaluate the change and inform decisions about parking in the area.

Your experience can help the City better understand how the angled parking has affected you and others who use Chatham Street.


📍 What has changed?

The City converted the existing parallel parking stalls along Chatham Street between Fourth Avenue and Sixth Avenue into angled parking stalls.

The change added 17 new stalls, bringing the total number of stalls on this stretch of Chatham Street from 32 to 49.

The pilot was introduced in response to feedback received through the Steveston Streetscape Vision 2024 project regarding the demand for more parking in the Steveston area.
