Shape Richmond's Economic Future
Richmond is a vibrant and growing community with a strong economic foundation. To build on our strengths and create new opportunities for businesses, workers and residents, we are developing a new Economic Development Strategy.
This strategy will guide Richmond in supporting a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable economy that balances growth and environmental responsibility toward community well-being. It will address both current and future needs to keep Richmond competitive and reflect the aspirations of our community.

- Businesses and entrepreneurs on opportunities, challenges, and supports needed to grow and succeed.
- Students on how to strengthen learning, career pathways, and innovation opportunities.
- Workers on what’s needed to ensure good jobs, fair opportunities, and secure livelihoods.
- Organizations and other institutions on insights and potential partnerships on long-term economic growth and community well-being.
- Community groups on how to foster a more inclusive and connected economy.
