We want to hear your thoughts on the next phase of the Steveston Highway Multi-Use Pathway.

What is happening?

The City of Richmond is extending the Steveston Highway Multi-Use Pathway from Shell Road to the new Steveston Interchange at Highway 99. Design is underway with construction scheduled for 2026.

Why are we doing this?

This project will extend connectivity and accessibility, which supports our goals to provide more mobility options for people in Richmond.

Currently the Steveston Multi-Use Pathway connects Railway Avenue to Shell Road. This project extends the pathway to the Ironwood neighbourhood and the Highway 99 corridor. From there, users can access the Riverport entertainment district via existing on-street bike lanes. In the future, the Ministry of Transportation and Transit intends on providing cycling infrastructure to connect to the new Fraser River Tunnel. This will complete a large section of TransLink’s Major Bikeway Network.
