What is happening

The timber playground at Wowk Neighbourhood School Park was originally constructed in 2016 as a nature play environment featuring large timber play elements and structures. Over time, weather exposure and heavy use has resulted in significant deterioration of some playground components. To ensure the playground remains safe, functional and enjoyable for years to come, certain elements may require major repair or full replacement.

We want your input

As part of the City’s Timber Playground Renewal Program, we are seeking feedback on the existing playground and ideas for its future renewal. The program aims to preserve opportunities for nature-based and adventurous play while exploring opportunities to incorporate durable materials and enhance long-term performance where appropriate.

As part of the planning process, we are committed to gathering feedback from area residents and other stakeholders. The insight gathered will help shape the playground design and influence the selection of play equipment.

This renewal is intended to replace and improve the existing neighbourhood playground within the current park footprint and available budget.

Construction is slated to begin in 2027.
